An Evening With MrMayat
April 27, 2008 by MrMayat
Danny Choo has his “A week in Tokyo”. Windbell has his “A week in Singapore”. Moi? I just take pics whenever I can.
Ok. It’s just an excuse to bring out the ol’ D70 out of the cabinet (no, not a dry cabinet) and practice till the cows come home. (Do people still use that expression?) Hopefully, I’ll improve by the time I’m vacationing in Tokyo at the end of the year. (Last year Tokyo pics mostly sucked)
Here goes:
Spot the meme. Enlarge for better view.
Stealth chest shot while walking. This comes in handy for candid shots, provided optimum conditions are met. (Focal range, sharpness, discreetness)
Good old Haji Lane. My regular hangout for my niche streetwear fetish.
Basket elevator @ House of Japan. The place to go for cheap vintage-wear. I’m pretty sure the clothes ore locally sourced, but the signboard says it’s from Japan. *Shrugs*
City Hall at dusk.
Another stealth shot. 3 girls crowding around their DSLR on a tripod. I love ladies with an eye for photography.
Last sunlight by the bay. Needs more exposure… Love the clouds though.
Guess I wasn’t the only photographer…
Weekly free concerts are held at Esplanade the bay. Themes change every week and guest bands from Malaysia and Indonesia are regularly invited.
Rocking out with some retro-pop. (Note the afro)

Oh, how nice! I think your pictures by the bay have come out pretty nice, also the basket elevator is pure winnage, haha.
That makes me want to do something like that too (not on my anime blog though).
Thanks Sasa. Would love to see your pics someday.
As for the basket elevator, it was a common sight back in the day of shophouses. It was usually used to collect food from the ground floor food peddler, along with the payment of course.
Off-topic:
Whoa! My traffic increased 7-fold after this post. What happened? There were no trackbacks or linkage…
Actually I’m going to leave Paris soon and so I will organize all the pictures - and might really make a posting on my life in Paris. ^^
The stats about your traffic are really interesting - maybe it’s a coincidence and it’s just because you posted more recently, or… it’s the stalkers of the mighty Sasa who have been following her to your blog! Mwahahahar.
Now you’re talking… Do update me.
As for the stats, my average readership was 3 to begin with, so the sudden jump was surprising to say the least. My recent posts were mostly backlog stuff. (I mean, covering past month events?) Then again, I’m not in it for blogging’s sake (or for the ABA) Stalkers are more than welcomed at this site, provided they aren’t of the spam variety.
